The most important event of the Polish Mushroom industry, was held for two days in Siedlce, eastern Poland, starting on 20th September. It offered a good trade fair, lectures, discussion and.. soccer. A report on this event can be found in Mushroom Business 55 / Wydanie Polskie 23 (November 2012).

The trade fair at the BICC was a big success. A record number of stands at an event like this, displayed products and supplies for the industry from all over the world.  At the closing ceremony of ISMS 2012, the venue of the conference in 2016 was reveiled; Amsterdam, Capital of The Netherlands.

In the afternoon of the 29th, participants could visit the mushroom market in Yongledian Town and the Mushroom Culture Center at the same spot. After lunch, Beijing Fuqin Edible Mushroom Science & Technology Co. was visited (Flammulina velutipes). In the evening, Tongzhou District offered ISMS participants a cultural dinner at the BICC.

In August 2012, the 18th Congress of the ISMS was held in Beijing. We have four photo series for you. The first one shows the Opening Ceremony, and impressions from the scientific conference, as well as some tourist pictures.

On August 29th, mushroom farm and factory visits were organized. On the 30th of September and the 1st of October, the 63rd annual general meeting of the Bund Deutscher Champignon- und Kulturpilzanbauer (BDC) took place in Bensheim near Darmstadt, Germany. Main topics were organic growing, due to a visit to an organic mushroom farm, and spawn, because of the presence of 4 international spawn manufacturers.

On the 20th of October the Irish city of Monaghan hosted the 2011 edition of the All Ireland Mushroom Conference and Trade Show. Friday the 21st was a day for farm visits to the new Monaghan Mushroom farm in Tyholland and the farm owned by Peader McGee in Emyvale.
