The 20th ISMS International Congress on the Science and Cultivation of Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms (ISMSC) will be a face-to-face live event held in conjunction with the 26th North American Mushroom Conference (NAMC) in the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Las Vegas, USA on 26-29 February 2024. The theme this year is ‘Betting on a Winning Future’.
The ISMS Congress will involve concurrent sessions of live oral presentations (12 min presentation with 3 mins for questions), dedicated poster sessions, as well as invited keynote presentations (25min presentation with 5 mins for questions) over a two-day period on the 26th and 27th of the joint event. Keynote speakers include Dr Shiuan Chen, Dr Eoin O’Connor and Dr Lynn Rothschild. Scientists from some 22 countries will deliver 70 oral presentations and posters.
The NAMC part starts with an Opening Reception on the 27th, after the ISMS program closing ceremony. Keynotes include ‘The Future of Fresh’ by Cathy Burns and ‘Succession and family transitions’ by Ed Herr. The O’Neil Lecture will be presented by Michael Kertesz on Nitrogen supply and demand in Agaricus. The NAMC features subjects like alternative use of mycelium, innovations and automation in harvesting, labor and casing issues, and, ofcourse, sustainability.
Throughout, there’s an expo in the Marquis Ballroom of the hotel, with some 40 international suppliers to the mushroom industry.
On Thursday, February 29th, the double event wraps up with a closing party ‘Night in Vegas’.
