The recent acquisition of Sussex Mushrooms by Irish mushroom giant Monaghan Mushrooms has been approved by the Office of Fair Trading. Therefore the transition from Sussex Mushrooms to Thakeham Mushrooms is now official.
Ronnie Wilson, CEO of Monaghan Mushrooms: “We will start an ambitious renovation program to reinstall Thakeham Mushrooms as one of the leading companies in the British mushroom industry. The surroundings and traditions of the company are kept intact, as well as the ancient chimney. Compost production will be transferred, in 2013, from Thakeham to Hampshire.” Wilson also emphasised that jobs will stay secure.
