In 2011 Walkro Compost managed to produce 415.000 tonnes of spawn run compost at 3 production locations in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. According to Walkro, they are now the first compost producer worldwide breaking the barrier of 400.000 tonnes in one year.
“Tonne number 400.000 was delivered at the 19th of December at Vos Mushroom farm in Zichen-Zussen-Bolder, near Riemst in Belgium”, says Joost van Schipstal from Walkro, “the Vos family has been a dedicated customer for years and has therefore earned a holiday cheque.” Walkro has realised a 35% growth in the last 5 years, and is now in possession of Monaghan Mushrooms.
