Zijn partner Paul van Gestel ontving de \u0091Contente Mens\u0092, de prijs voor de beste gastheer of gastvrouw tijdens de wedstrijd in Den Bosch. De innovatieprijs van de persjury &#8211; waaronder Vakblad Agf &#8211; ging naar Jan Mommersteeg van het restaurant van Interpolis, eveneens in Tilburg. Het was al de 21e keer dat er werd gestreden om de Zilveren Champignon, die de laatste jaren wordt gehouden tijdens de Horeca Vakbeurs Brabant. De negen deelnemende restaurants demonstreerden wederom de vele culinaire mogelijkheden met champignons en andere paddestoelen.
